Nietes make a history:The longest world title reign





Create a history of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) light flyweight champion Donnie "Ahas" Nietes, after exceed the record of Hall-of-Famer Gabriel "Flash" Elorde as world junior lightweight champion for seven years and three months.

He wanted to preserve it after the title against Mexican boxer was against Carlos Velarde Saturday in Cebu. Graduated the fight in the 8th round via technical knockout (TKO) after seeing referee Robert Byrd wound Velarde on its brow.

At the moment is holding Nietes the 34 wins, one loss and four boards. While he most recently addressed that Velarde has 26 wins, four losses and one draw.

First Nietes captured the WBO title on September 30, 2007 after defeating the Thai Porpramook of Thailand. Here are retained Pinoy belt within three years.
