Old But Best Gameloft Games Don't Run on Android ICS and JB

I’m one of millions of gamers who love playing games long before Symbian OS dropped
down in popularity. I tried playing old gameloft games I've never had the chance to play
during their time. But there’s just one problem- they all crashed! I investigated why old
gameloft games for Android ICS and Jellybean just don’t work- they just kept on crashing
every time I open them. First off, I installed Splinter Cell: Conviction, a 3D 3rd person
action game of the long- running splinter cell game series. The game was loading, played
the video intro, I selected the play button, I interacted with the game- moved behind a
crate to hide from an enemy when suddenly, a white circle appeared and the game just-
crashed! Boom! I hated the moment and tried loading the game again and it crashed-
again. I was frustrated because I knew it should have ran because I installed the same
game on my cousin’s Gingerbread- powered smart phone, it was running.
After sometime, he was asking for more 3D games, I gave him some and they all ran
without any problem. I was asking myself- why would a phone from three years ago run
these awesome game smoothly when my phone I bought a few months back wouldn't?
Absolutely not a hardware failure. Here’s my phone specification anyway: 1.2 Ghz quad-
core processor, 512 ram and running on Jelly Bean 4.2.

The main reason for this problem is the games themselves. These are totally not supported
by newer version of Android- Jelly Bean and Ice Cream Sandwich. Gameloft don’t seem
to update these games and make them compatible with newer smartphones/ Android
version. This case is especially for games free of charge. After all, why would a company spend time on updating games when there is nothing for them in the first place? And when they are earning a lot of dough from in- app purchases and one- time billing of new, great games like Modern Combat 4 and Asphalt 8? It’s just business here.

This is the list of games that I tried playing on Jellybean and Ice Cream Sandwich
  1. Spiderman Mayhem
  2. Modern Combat Sandstorm
  3.  Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus
  4. Shadow Guardian
  5. Assassin’s Creed
  6.  Gangstar: West Coast Hustle
  7.  Gangstar: Miami Vindication
  8.  N.O.V.A
  9. Splinter Cell: Conviction
If you have noticed, all these games are in 3D or HD quality and it’s irresistible to try
playing these games on your Android device. Unfortunately, new smart phones won’t
be able to play them smoothly as they would just keep crashing. I hope Gameloft would mind updating these games so we can play them. But they don’t have plans; We've got ourselves the last resort- use Android Gingerbread 3.2 or lower running smartphone.

Note: when a game from Gameloft appears on Google Playstore, especially when it
still costs a lot, check first if the game was initially released from 2008 to 2012, because
there is likely a chance that the game is one of them- crashing on JB and ICS. I guess
Playstore doesn't filter games according to Android version.  Good luck!
