World's Largest Christmas Tree


Francis led the lighting of the biggest Christmas tree in the world of Mount Ingino in Gubbio, Umbria, central Italy. The Christmas tree is made out of 1,000 multi-colored lights and set it over 5 miles of electrical cable.

It has a height of 2,460 feet and 1,476 feet or area equivalent to 30 football fields. According to Pope, symbol of Christmas tree lighting on the desire to achieve both clarity through forgiveness.

The Christmas tree was built in 1981 by residents of Gubbio who want to remember Christmas in a different way. After 10 years listed in the Guinness Book of Records as "The World's Largest Christmas Tree."
